Over the years, Crossroads Church has supported many charities. As well as the ones listed in our Coffee Shop page, these are some of the charities we are currently supporting;
Samaritans Purse
Set up in 1970, this is an international relief and development organisation that works through local churches to proclaim and demonstrate the love of God amongst communities in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. They also run 'Operation Christmas Child', which sends shoeboxes filled with gifts to children in developing countries
Open Doors
An international ministry set up in 1955 by Andrew Van Der Bijl to help persecuted Christians and churches worldwide
Premier Christian Radio
Premier is a supporter enabled charity, whose mission it is to use modern communications to promote the gospel. A majority of their funding comes from gifts, donations and legacies. Available to listen to on Freeview, Sky Digital, Medium Wave and national DAB radio
Relief work in Vanuatu
Vanuatu is a South Pacific nation made up of around 83 islands off the north east coast of Australia. Dave Bruce, one of our church members, has often visited there to help out with relief work and support. The islands are often subject to earthquakes and cyclones, which leave a wake of destruction and hardship for the islanders. There are also several active volcanoes on the islands. Whenever Dave goes there, he takes a financial gift from the church to help pay for practical items - a cement mixer being a case in point - to help in the cleaning up and rebuilding operations.
